Curry Sauce

Flour incorporated into melted butter in saucepan. Whole milk, water, sherry wine, and hot sauce added to flour mixture and brought to gentle boil. Mixture of paprika, curry powder, and ketchup added to wine sauce, and cooked until heated through.

Ingredients -
1/2 cup Whole Milk
1/2 cup Cold Water
1/4 cup Sherry Wine
1/2 teaspoon Hot Sauce
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon Paprika
1 teaspoon Curry Powder
1 tablespoon Ketchup
 
Preparation:

1. Add whole milk, water, sherry wine, and hot sauce to a small bowl. Set aside.

2. Add paprika, curry powder and ketchup to small bowl. Stir to combine. Set aside.

3. Add unsalted butter to small saucepan. Melt butter over low heat on stovetop.

4. Add flour to melted butter. Stir continuously for 1 minute.

5. Stir in wine mixture. Increase heat to medium high. Bring to a gentle boil.

6. Reduce heat to medium. Cook 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously until mixture thickens.

7. Stir curry mixture into sauce. Heat through. Serve over rice or poultry.

Paprika

Ground paprika adds beautiful red color and nice flavor to foods. Paprika comes in a variety of flavors so watch your labels. Spanish paprika is hot, similar to cayenne pepper.
